Spirit of the Sea Gets Impact

A local sign company is helping to create the most impressive piece of advertising yet for Weymouth’s Spirit of the Sea Maritime Festival.

The festival takes place for the second time this year between July 4 and 12 and will celebrate the area’s close relationship to the sea with a range of sporting activities, cultural events and entertainment.

To promote this exciting event the Weymouth-based company Impact Signs and Print will transform one of its vehicles into a colourful, moving billboard using a state-of-the-art technique called vehicle wrapping. It is hoped the bright graphics will promote Spirit of the Sea to residents and visitors across the Borough.

Jeremy Pope, Chairman of Spirit of the Sea and Vice Chairman of the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, said: “I hope this intriguing technology helps to remind people about what an exciting calendar of events we have planned for this year’s Spirit of the Sea Maritime Festival. It will certainly turn a few heads, and I hope it creates a lasting impression in everyone’s mind so that they are encouraged to get involved with all the entertainment and sport on offer across Weymouth and Portland. It has been estimated that vehicle wrap can be noticed up to 3,000 times an hour – that is a lot of potential new visitors to our festival!”

Paula Fry, director of Impact Signs and Print, said: “We are delighted to be involved in the promotion of Spirit of the Sea.“As locals we feel passionate about Weymouth and what it can offer and this exciting maritime festival can only be a positive thing for the town’s future. As specialists in vehicle wrapping we were happy to undertake this promotion. Whether the vehicle is driving around town or sitting in a car park, we definitely think it will get noticed.”
